CORNWALL'S MINING WORLD HERITAGE SITEAnother great reason to visit West Cornwall. A new initiative has just been launched to promote our world heritage site one of only 28 in the UK. Close to us are the great mines of Geevor, Botallack & Levant all part of this world site which tells the story of people & places that formed the landscape when the mines were in their prime. Fascinating, inspiring, mind boggling - come & see for yourself. While you are here what better place to stay than Castallack with it's own piece of history - Castallack Roundago, the site of an Iron Age fort. 11th November 2011 |

WINTER VISITORFound this little? bird in our conservatory stuck behind the blinds. How it got in there is a mystery as the only door open at this time of year is from the lounge unless it was helped in via the cat flap. We think it is a 'Water Rail' which seems likely as it shot into the reeds [mid photo] in our pond in the courtyard on release!! 10th November 2011
