Topping the fields which have grown really long over the past few weeks. Our farm is on the left & ahead is ‘Hood’s wood’ which we planted twenty years ago in 2001.

After hearing from our vet that the hedgehog was ok & should be returned to the garden we built it a house with lean to under our back hedge. In it went with dog food & water. The following morning most of the dog food had been eaten so was replaced early evening. The next morning it hadn’t been eaten nor the following morning. We assume he just needed us for a one night stay!!

This little hedgehog we found on our back lawn on a hot sunny day & obviously needed water. We settled it down for the night in a cat basket with plenty of paper for it to make a nest as well as water & some dog food. By morning it had eaten the food & drunk the water but we were advised to have it checked by our vet who said that it was fine & could be put back in the garden

Great view of our farm, left foreground, from our fields & looking out to sea. Most of the houses in our hamlet, eight in total are in the picture. The trees behind the fencing were planted by us when we came here in 1998. They are mainly Ash & sadly some of them have Ash dieback disease.

We’ve had a young fox around the farm in the last couple of weeks. Walking amongst the sheep, snuffling around in our home field [empty of livestock at the time] & even eating bird seed that the Goldfinches have spat out whilst on the feeder in the back garden.

This image was taken after watching him in the sheep’s field for a while & then suddenly the fox & Chico were both looking at me at the same time. About 100 yards away so not very sharp but even so.

This Bluebell was lagging behind others due to it’s position in one of our field hedges which meant it had limited light. The colour is really vibrant.

We’ve had sightings of some Deer in our wood & these hoof prints seem to confirm that they are indeed visitors. Fantastic. We haven’t quite worked out how they get into the wood, whether it’s from the minor road alongside or from an adjacent field.

Now Connie & Budgie get to explore their new grazing. It looks as though Connie is a bit more excited than Budgie who is, in any case, a bit more laid back!!

Connie & Budgie just arrived in their new field having swopped with the sheep & Chico. Not too excited but certainly some interest.
