We’re creating a new self catering space in 2023 [hopefully] & this shows the private entrance. We’re pretty much finished but a few bits & pieces to sort out!

The lovely weather we’ve had for the last few weeks means that we had lots of grass in our fields & it has now been cut for hay. Four fields in total about 16 acres.

So we collected Cooper shown below, a friends dog, from Connor Downs just outside Hayle & drove to Godrevy, a National Trust beach to walk to Hell’s Mouth & back which we did in lovely weather. The North coast is great & easy to drive to from Castallack.

From ‘The Telegraph’s’ best picnic places in England – St Michael’s Mount, Cornwall

The county on England’s southernmost tip will leave you spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches, but sandy Marazion, a short drive from Penzance, is made special by the beautiful views of castle fortress St Michael’s Mount. Catch a boat to the island or plan your picnic around low tide, when you can walk across the causeway to explore the castle and uncover its legends. Back on the mainland, head to nearby Penzance for art galleries, shopping and seafood.

We built this new pond during the second lockdown & it is now starting to look really good.

We took a circular walk around the coast at Perranuthnoe today with Tammy & Margot & ended the walk at The Peppercorn cafe where we had delicious sandwiches & great coffee.

Collecting fallen branches from our wood for use in the firepit in Tremerth Cottage & also for kindling for the woodburners in both Tremerth & Trevean Cottages.

We took the dogs to Porthchapel this afternoon, haven’t been there since we’ve had Margot in the family so at least nine years. Quite tricky access to the beach which we didn’t do because Tammy, Border Collie, is elderly & not too brilliant on her feet but a lot of scrabbling over rocks would be neccessary. However on the way down there is a small stream to cross which I thought Tammy would struggle to manage so I tried to get her to go up some wooden steps, across & down the other side. Would she? Not a bit of it she obviously thought I was wrong & so flung herself across the stream with no problem!!

Chico has moved on.

Sadly our beloved Llama, Chico, has been put to sleep after a short illness. He was the most beautiful boy & enriched our lives for over 20 years. He also looked after his flock of sheep with great vigilance & although at the end he was only caring for 14 of them he once had over 130 ewes & lambs under his protection.
